The hole that started it all

This is the 'massave' hole that caused water to run from my driveway like somebody was washing their car. It was FINALLY located below the slab, behind the toilet, under the kitchen cabinets.

This thing is as small as the tip of my pinky finger.

Mom Won Me $1

Mom went to a Credit Union Opening, spun the wheel and won me one of the new solid dollars with George Washington on it.

Big Cuz

Big cousin C4 holding Mia! She's one month old now and he finally gets to hold her (you know with pillows all around and Grandaddy just out of the shot).

Little Miss Kimmie had an interview yesterday and not only got hired on the spot, began working. She finished her second day today. She'll work after school for about 3 years each day. It's an independant insurance company miles from school/home.

Happy Birthday Grandaddy!

Today we have having a birthday dinner with Grandaddy. He is 72 years old on Thursday. He made Gumbo and we brought a German Chocolate Cake from Sam's Club. Christopher is watch Tom and Jerry Blast Off To Mars. I'm about to take Shanisa to Target so she can register for the Baby Registry. She and Jobarron are expecting Little Angel Mialona in Late August or early September.
Kim and I went to see Hair Spray on Friday night with Sarah (from Orlando). We also had dinner at Fish City Grill. Both were excellent. I want to see the movie again. Usually I don't like musicals, but this is truly the exception! The Black and White dress in the last act is AWESOME. Going to see what I can do about duplicating that puppy!

For Sale????

I just can't decide if I want to put my house up for sale. So I called my agent Marion Harris and told her I'm ready. Marion gave me a list of things to get done before I am ready to 'show' the house. She says if there are no 'showings' in the first 30 days, it may be difficult to sell it at this time.

Kim and I have started on the list. This is a generic list I told Marion I'd work on before she came to view the house. This way, she can focus on other things (and I have a chance to get rid of a bunch of junk before she comes ;-)). Anyway, Kim is the queen of 'letting go....' Not at all like that Titanic chick (I'll never let go..). We started with the toughest area, the laundry room. Now we have tools, washer/dryer items, and items that will put in storeage while the house is 'on the market'. These include anything we won't be using before Nov. and my mass collection off fabrics and other crafts.

This morning I work up at 5 and waited for the sun to come up. When it did, I went to the backyard and began removing items from the shed and putting them in the front of the house for 'bulk pickup'. I got in a good 30 minutes of exercise when I had to stop to get ready for church.

I ended up washing my hair and am now under the dryer. It was so hot yesterday, I didn't want to work outside between 8am and 8pm. Maybe tonight I can do some more with the back yard. We have a picnic table that is aweful, I'm going to take it apart and put it out for trash too.

We've alrady donated about 6 of the outdoor trash bags of 'stuff' to the American Kidney Foundation. I'm sure we'll have that much more to donate within the month.

I scheduled Marion to see the houseon 7/28, so I've got just enough time to 'get er done'.

Tough Day

Well the day started with me finding a tower to move Kim's car from the parking lot (where I told her not to leave it) to the repair shop. Long story, but this should have been done BEFORE she left for camp on Monday. THEN I discovered that I needed to drop the key off at the repair shop. Once all of this was done, I BARELY got to work in time for a meeting with my boss, his bosses, and their boss. At that meeting I was told that my attempt to correct a MAJOR error was not handled properly.

After that, I got a call from the repair shop to tell me that the car started right up when the wrecker tried it!!!!! I'd gone over yesterday and it wouldn't start. The alarm was going off, but no start-up of the car. So it was $60 to have someone tow a drivable care 4 blocks!!!! THEN it's $450 to repair the brake shoes, pads, and routers!

I have been pissy all day and am still not my happy usual cheerful self. My eye keeps twitching and it's really bugging me!

Tomorrow BETTER be a better day!

Sew and Sew and Sew

Well I can mark 7 pieces off of my list of 100 items to sew this year. I have finished 3 curtains for my girlfriend Pearl (Hi Pearl, hope you are reading this). I visited my other girlfriend this weekend. She had already made this gorgeous skirt for herself and I asked if I could make coordinated TShirt dresses for her daughters (these are the ones I made the fairy curtains for). I also made a headband for one and a bandana for the other.

Kimmie Goes to Camp

C4 and I dropped Kimmie off at the Chartered bus headed to Frasher, Colorado. She and Grace are going with Bunnie and about 40 other people to Young Life Camp. I properly interigated, I mean, questioned the driver. She will gone until the 11th. I really don't know who's going to take care of me and C4, any volunteers?

HAVE FUN KIMMIE!

June 1 - Day 1

I FINALLY made it to the gym today. I did 30 minutes of treadmill and 3 reps of 'chest' weights. After buying 3 sleeveless tops this weekend (thanks Diane), I have to wake up some muscles!

It's the last day of school. C4 is now in 1st grade (sob, sob), and Missie Kimmie is now a junior/senior. Man, it seems like just 3 years ago when she started 1st grade.

Hope yall have a great summer!

I'mmmmmmmmmmmmm BACK!

Okay, so we have so much to catch up on (thanks Cindi, I needed that push to get back to my blog)!

Well the kids are perfect (of course).

C4 is in his 3rd season of Tee Ball. He has a combination of 8 trophies/ribbons from TeeBall/Soccer! He is currently playing left field. He can hit a line drive down the 3rd baseline everytime. Once the ump (apparently thinking this skill not possible for a 5 year old) called the ball foul after it was it. Well the ball never crossed the foul line (so take THAT).

The parent's on the team LOVE the nickname he's had since he was 8 months old "C4" (created by T-Steph because it took too long to type his whole name in instant messanger). They say it is because the ball EXPLODES when he hits it!!! Works for me. Go TeeBall RANGERS!!!!
WELLL, how do I put this???? I'll just have to come out with it. Miss Kim is seriously considering graduating from High School a year early!!!!! She dropped that bomb shell on me this week. No warning, no EMS, no nothin. I "guess" it's a good idea. I mean she's been asking to have her own apartment since she was 9. I've probably done good keeping her here until she is (almost) 17. Looks like c/o 2008 here we come. It hasn't been determined who will raise me once she goes off to college, but it looks like C4 is the only viable candidate.

Mediocrity always attacks Excellence

Heard that little gem on Oprah. Love It!

Winter Ball 2007

I finished this dress just in time for Kim to wear it to the dance. It's a burnt orange tafitta. The pattern is a collection of flowers sewn on the fabric using strips of the fabric.

This is my first pattern design. I want to donate it to the Prom Dress group that gives dresses to girls who can't afford them. We'll see if Kim lets it go.

Gettin 'er Done!

484 Items to go!!!!

I am really having fun checking items off of my list. PLUS whenever I think of starting a new project, I realize it'll probably end up on the unfinished projects list so I don't do it. Instead I find something 'unfinished' to finish.

Plus now I HAVE to do these things since they are on my list. A coworker seems interested in starting her own lists of 100s. I'll keep you posted.

Another Good Idea

How cool is this?

I've been wanting to write a journal for the kids for years. Kind of like an extended baby book, but it never worked out too well. This may be the thing I need. Especially since all of the pictures of me growing up got washing away with Hurricane Katrina.

499 to go

So far I've completed 1 of my unfinished projects!

I replaced or tightened door knobs on all of the doors. I even WD40'd the front door which has been sticking for some time now!!!!

500 Things I will do in 2007

Bless her Heart! Jennifer shared this concept with me. The idea is to create something you will do 100 times/days/hours/miles/etc. by the end of the year.

Well you know how I love to make a list right?

Here we go:
1. Complete 100 unfinished projects
2. Sew 100 items
3. Complete 100 Scrapbook Pages and/or Cards
4. Read 100 books to Christopher
5. Walk 100 hours
