Handsome young man!

I just cut Chris' hair. Couldn't wait to share this pic! Chris is 8 now and had a very good school year. He got All A's (AGAIN this year)! He also earned good citizen awards, grammer, writting, and math awards! I'm so proud of him. He loves going to Golden Corral when he gets his report cards. He earns a certificate for a free meal from his school when he makes the A-Honor Roll so every six weeks we go there to have dinner. Sometimes we have sister, grandparents, uncle, aunt, and cousin join us. Chris will be in the 3rd grade next school year!!!!!

Lickens!

This is our new Puppy! We got her late may from the Garland Animal Shelter. She continued to lick Pher so he decided to name her Lickens. I tried to change it to Licorice, but no dice. So Lickens it is. She was 7lbs when we adopted her, but today she's 21lbs now! You Go GIRL!

Flowers for being Me

Today my neighbor gave these to me. Her flower shop had them left after Mother's Day. She wanted 2 thank me for always making sure her daughter got off the school bus and home okay whenever I'm home. I barely know them but I just want to look out for her like neighhbors did 4 Kimmie. But I REALLY love the flowers!

Feelin Good!

Been a long month and a half since I last posted, but I'm feeling MUCH better now. Had some tough times but with God and awesome family/friends, I'm on the other side of it now. I'm not sure what the problem was. I am going to get some testing on my vitamin/hormone levels to try to pinpoint the problems that 'took me down'. Thanks to Cindi and Joey who CAME to my house to SEE what was going on. I didn't realize it but I really NEEDED somebody to come and see me. Thanks to Miss Cherri from C4's school who had a long talk with me about having to get C4 to school on time every day. Thanks to Nadia for always being there and talking TO me when I didn't want to function. Thanks for Pastor Dave for my counsel and advicing me to get testing because he doesn't "think" I'm crazy. Thanks to my wonderful daughter and son for reminding me why I was ever born. The love from you guys is so AWESOME it helps me to fight my way back. Thanks to my dear friend Melinda for praying/texting me, I could feel the prayers. Thanks to Wo for making me laugh dispite it all. Thanks to God for EVERYTHING! I love you guys and want you to know that I really appreciate all that you do for me and my kids. God be Praised!

As mentioned in earlier posts, C4 was an immediate fan of Barack Obama's. Today I am going to his school to be with his as our newly elected President is sworn into office. I've made a sheet for the kids to fill in tell a little bit about themselves on this historic day.

I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it.......

A friend from high school forwarded this .jpg to me so what did I do? I sent it to be printed!!!!! I then put it in a frame and when C4 asked me if it was for him, I said YES! He just loves Barack (I'm sure he doesn't mind looking at Michelle or Oprah either). Now it's like he has his own picture of his hero!!!!

KLTY Christmas Wish

I'm so excited!!!!

I found a Christmas Wish that I could grant when I went to the KLTY Morning Show which broadcasted from the Chick-fil-a in Garland, TX. I was inspired by my friends Cindi, Joey, and Hailey who sponsor a girl in Africa. Frank Reed even interviewed me on the radio!!!!!

Surprise, surprise, I selected a single mother of a two-year old daughter! I will be helping her with money for gas to get back and forth to Hill College. She is graduates in May. I also plan to make clothes for her daughter (you know how I Luv2Sew) and other things throughout the year!!!!!

Thank God I have been able to help someone else even in this trying time!!!

I Told You

When C4 woke up this morning I told him that Barak Obama won the election for President of the United States of America. He looked at me and passively said, "I told you".

He did. He told me before he went to bed last night. He had NO DOUBT in his mind. He had become a fan of President Elect Obama long before I had. He never wavered, not once! There was an election at his school yesterday and he (of course) voted for Senator Obama. When Kim (for the first time) and I early voted for the election, C4 was the one who actually pressed the choice for Senator Obama!

Now he knows for sure that he can one day be a President of the United States of America!!!!

This is the Sunflower by Nirve. LOVE IT!! I want one! The campus is HUGE! When It took me 7 minutes to drive Kim to class, I understood why she'd been asking me for a bicycle.

LSU

Kimberly is doing fine at LSU! The start was very rocky with an admission 2 days after classes began and getting her on the plane within 8 hours of the call. Then having to leave two days from then because of Hurricane Gustav. She got home that following Saturday after spending days in Lafayette, LA then Houston, TX. Then it was back to the Airport to try it all over again. Did I mention we went to the wrong airport? Well it'll be funny one day (maybe). Anyway she got back and didn't have a dorm room assignment yet. So that week was spent having people taking her to/from campus to stay with relatives. But FINALLY!!!!! Monday she got her dorm room!!!!!! GEAUX Miller Hall!!!!!! Her roommate is also a freshman from Austin, TX. Cousin Erica took her to pick up her bedding and other items at Wallie World yesterday (THANKS Erica and Gary).

We use Skype a few times a week to video conference with Kimmie. It's really good and makes the transition much easier.
