As mentioned in earlier posts, C4 was an immediate fan of Barack Obama's. Today I am going to his school to be with his as our newly elected President is sworn into office. I've made a sheet for the kids to fill in tell a little bit about themselves on this historic day.

I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it.......

A friend from high school forwarded this .jpg to me so what did I do? I sent it to be printed!!!!! I then put it in a frame and when C4 asked me if it was for him, I said YES! He just loves Barack (I'm sure he doesn't mind looking at Michelle or Oprah either). Now it's like he has his own picture of his hero!!!!

KLTY Christmas Wish

I'm so excited!!!!

I found a Christmas Wish that I could grant when I went to the KLTY Morning Show which broadcasted from the Chick-fil-a in Garland, TX. I was inspired by my friends Cindi, Joey, and Hailey who sponsor a girl in Africa. Frank Reed even interviewed me on the radio!!!!!

Surprise, surprise, I selected a single mother of a two-year old daughter! I will be helping her with money for gas to get back and forth to Hill College. She is graduates in May. I also plan to make clothes for her daughter (you know how I Luv2Sew) and other things throughout the year!!!!!

Thank God I have been able to help someone else even in this trying time!!!

I Told You

When C4 woke up this morning I told him that Barak Obama won the election for President of the United States of America. He looked at me and passively said, "I told you".

He did. He told me before he went to bed last night. He had NO DOUBT in his mind. He had become a fan of President Elect Obama long before I had. He never wavered, not once! There was an election at his school yesterday and he (of course) voted for Senator Obama. When Kim (for the first time) and I early voted for the election, C4 was the one who actually pressed the choice for Senator Obama!

Now he knows for sure that he can one day be a President of the United States of America!!!!

This is the Sunflower by Nirve. LOVE IT!! I want one! The campus is HUGE! When It took me 7 minutes to drive Kim to class, I understood why she'd been asking me for a bicycle.

LSU

Kimberly is doing fine at LSU! The start was very rocky with an admission 2 days after classes began and getting her on the plane within 8 hours of the call. Then having to leave two days from then because of Hurricane Gustav. She got home that following Saturday after spending days in Lafayette, LA then Houston, TX. Then it was back to the Airport to try it all over again. Did I mention we went to the wrong airport? Well it'll be funny one day (maybe). Anyway she got back and didn't have a dorm room assignment yet. So that week was spent having people taking her to/from campus to stay with relatives. But FINALLY!!!!! Monday she got her dorm room!!!!!! GEAUX Miller Hall!!!!!! Her roommate is also a freshman from Austin, TX. Cousin Erica took her to pick up her bedding and other items at Wallie World yesterday (THANKS Erica and Gary).

We use Skype a few times a week to video conference with Kimmie. It's really good and makes the transition much easier.

Hurricaine Gustav is the reason LSU discontinued classed on tomorrow and Wednesday. Kimmie is safe and sound with family in Houston.

I have NO IDEA how we pulled it off, but Kimmie is on her way to LSU within 8 hours of getting her acceptance call! Phew, I'm tired, but it was all worth it. My baby girl is going away to college. Twenty-one hours of labor AND THEN a C-Section..... was all worth it. God Bless you Kimmie, make me proud(er)!!!!!!

I had it on my layover in Madrid, Spain. This is what 'they' consider a croissant! It was delicious!!! The drink was orange. I've developed a slight addition to the lemon drink (lots of lemons in Europe). It's not like lemonade but more like an Orange soda but lemons instead. YUMMY! Hopefully I can find it at Fiesta.

The trip was AWESOME. More over the next week......

C4 and I have been playing Racketball together at Lifetime. I love the exercise not to mention the bonding time. I took this shot when he wasn't aware. Check out that form!

Jungle Book

C4 and I went to see Amanda and Jessica perform in The Jungle Book at the Plaza in Down Town Garland. It was AWESOME!!!!!! I got their autographs and will save them until they are both rich and famous THEN I'll sell them on ebay! Just jokin ya! These autographs are PRICELESS! C4, Amanda, Jessica, and Ste Step (T Steph)

That's Chris at the tippy top of the Rock Wall at Lifetime Fitness! A very nice gentlemen spotted him with the rope (they call it something else that I can't remember) and he made it all of the way to the top!

4th of July has never been so beautiful. Miyah's Great-Grandfather was 'born on the 4th of July'. We had a BLAST at the Grandparents. Met new cousins and ATE!!!

Finger Healing Nicely

C4's finger is looking MUCH better!!!! Day care has been soaking it and Jen reminded me to make sure it stays protected so he doesn't get the MRSA that could put him in the hospital or worse, so I will be doing just THAT!
